It's been a while since anyone last posted! Today was one of my oldest dearest friend's daughter Emily's first birthday, and so I decided to try out rolled icing for the first time! To keep it really simple and easy, I ended up making vanilla cupcakes with vanilla frosting, but I managed to top 8 of the cupcakes with a lemon frosting. I think they turned out awfully pretty, considering it's my first try with rolled icing!

These were for my younger son's birthday celebration at school. The lions were edible and of course, store-bought!

Toy Story Birthday Cake & Cupcakes

At last! It has been soooo long that I've actually forgotten my password for my sign-in! Yikes!

I actually made this for my younger son's birthday party in April. Yes, yes, I know that it is now the end of June! Sigh, laziness is in my bones - there is really nothing I can do about it :-P Anyway, I just used edible icing images for the cupcakes and put toy figurines on the cake, as per my usual lazy way!

Spring is almost here!

Apple Tart

I made this apple tart for dessert last night and it was oh-so-yummy! I got the recipe from The Pioneer Woman and it was very easy to make. Hence the name 'Quick and Easy Apple Tart'. It uses frozen puff pastry and it couldn't be simpler to make. The only thing is, it was a tad too sweet for me. The next time I make it, I will try to remember to reduce the sugar. But, still heavenly! :-)

Strawberry and Vanilla Cake

I know I've been out-of-action for a while. Have been soooo lazy :-P I didn't even bake anything for CNY! Decided to make this as strawberries from Korea are in season. But it's just way too hot here! The whipped cream very quickly turned soft and my cake was a big mess. Nevertheless, it was still so, so yummy!!

This is dedicated to Sister No. 3 who celebrated her birthday, er....ahem.... two weeks ago. Still, better late than never right?
